Digitize the dish, automate the cooking. 🤖🍳
When I met the Eatch Technologies team a while ago, I was blown away. A Dutch startup building a robotic kitchen piece by piece, capable of cooking thousands of personalized meals 24/7. In our industry, it’s all about digitizing how to order a certain meal of your choice, how to pay for it, and how to get it delivered. It’s as simple as that, although it’s quite complicated to execute. Over the last 25 years, we’ve automated and integrated this step by step, and every major shift always started with far less than 1% adoption:
•2000: The shift to online ordering
•2009: The launch of mobile apps
•2015: Vertical integration of delivery
•2018: Our own payment infrastructure
And now, on to the next frontier. Last week, we launched a smart locker connected to our app, stocked with fresh meals cooked by the Eatch robotic kitchen. It was a great team effort with Eatch Technologies and Zuply, combining existing innovations into a brand-new solution.
Again, it represents a tiny fraction of our orders today and only in our office, but all revolutions start small. I’m looking forward to the moment a personalized, robot-made meal is delivered straight to my backyard by a drone.
Technically, it’s already possible today.
