One of the questions we get asked most at Nara is surprisingly consistent.

“Can I have the recipe for this?”

For years, the answer was almost always no.

Not because we wanted to keep it a secret.. Some things just feel like they belong to the experience itself.

This pause changed that outlook.

As we spent more time thinking about what hospitality means when your doors are closed, we kept coming back to the same conclusion: Generosity should not stop when service does.

So we began sharing some of the dishes, techniques, and details guests have asked us about for years.

Not because a recipe replaces the experience. It doesn’t.

But because if people cannot come to us for now, the least we can do is bring them a little closer to the world we’ve built.

Sometimes hospitality is a table in the desert. Sometimes it is simply sharing what usually stays behind the scenes.
